Devon’s accolades include licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, certification as a suicide prevention instructor, and specialized training in trauma-focused work, among others. He is also a former member of the FBI Citizen  Academy. His extensive list of achievements encompasses mentorship, board memberships, and awards, including the Army Achievement Medal for Meritorious & Outstanding Service.

Media Presence: From radio shows like Radio One WOLB 1010 AM to television appearances on networks like Fox News Channel 45, CTN (Christian Television Network) and WBAL-TV channel 11, Devon has graced various media platforms. He has been featured in national newspapers and made special trips to offer support during critical events, such as the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shootings.

Beyond Borders: Devon’s impact extends globally, as seen in his work with mental health professionals in Bermuda, providing consultation and policy guidance on suicide, mental health, and addictions to the Government and the Ministry of Health.

Mr. Blackwood has mentored youth through The Baltimore Rising, Inc. formerly named The Mayor’s Office of Children, Youth, and Families. He is a former Board of Director of Son-ship Recovery Ministries, former Vice-President of Future Business Leaders of America and a graduate of the University of Baltimore’s Psychology Program. Mr. Blackwood was included in Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities & Colleges and Outstanding Young Men of America, 1996 edition. He has received numerous awards including the Army Achievement Medal for Meritorious & Outstanding Service, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 1998 Award for Community Service, City of Baltimore Citizen Citation by former Mayor Kurt Schmoke, and the LifeTime Missions Award in 2004 for exemplary missions abroad.
 
Devon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Baltimore, Master’s in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University in and is also a doctoral student in their Educational Leadership Program.
